IMA® Abu Dhabi Chapter cordially invites you to join us for our Event on "STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP" scheduled on Wednesday, 13th of November 2019 at 18:30hrs in Holiday Inn, Airport Road, Abu Dhabi. Our keynote speaker is Doreen Remmen, CMA, CSCA, CAE, Senior Vice President of Operations and CFO of IMA®. Doreen has been a professional member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) since 1992 and joined IMA’s staff as CFO in 2009. She is a Certified Management Accountant, Certified in Strategy and Competitive Analysis and a Certified Association Executive. As Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Financial Officer, she currently leads IMA’s Value Enablement Teams of finance, information technology, human resources, facilities, and customer service. She is the staff liaison to the Planning and Development Committee of IMA’s Board of Directors. Doreen has senior leadership team responsibility for IMA’s strategic planning process and works with all IMA value streams to execute plans and innovation initiatives. Prior to joining IMA’s staff, Doreen held senior financial leadership positions in a number of privately held and publicly traded companies involved in diverse industries spanning manufacturing, distribution, healthcare and other services. A graduate of the University of Windsor in Ontario, Canada, she began her accounting career in audit with Ernst and Whinney.
The goal of the presentation is to explore the evolving leadership roles of management accountants and the specific financial leadership knowledge and skillsets needed to better perform as strategic leaders.
Attendees will:
- Recognize the importance of financial leadership in the current and future marketplace
- Describe the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) associated with financial leadership
- Detail the steps management accountants should take to grow as financial leaders and valued business partners, and
- Examine real-world scenarios and applications of successful financial leadership
